Author: Here at Glam Rock Clothes, we are in love with David Bowie. His iconic song, Life on Mars?, was released on June 22, 1973 and was an instant hit for the Glam Rock king! But, is David Bowie the glam rock clothing visionary and king of all time? We think so and this video of Life on Mars is proof:

What is Glam Rock Clothing?
Glam rock clothes became popular in the 1970′s, also known as glitter rock or glitter pop. Glam rock is similar to glam pop, but with an edgier look.
The 70′s saw great proponents of this including David Bowie, Kiss and Garry Glitter. Today, there is a specific style associated with Glam rock clothing. Some examples would be:
- stripes
- tights
- spandex
- leather
- hairspray
Today, Glam Rock is the fashion of choice for many teens and 20 somethings, with many young music artists helping to shape today’s trends.
